Maggiore Lake

Maggiore Lake or Verbano is a pre-Alpine lake of fluvioglacial origin in the Italian geographical region. Its shores are shared between Switzerland and Italy. The name Maggiore derives from the fact that it is the largest of the lakes in the area, but among the Italian lakes it is the second by surface after Lake Garda.
